Well, I’m doing really good. I consider myself really lucky to have my host family, since they treat me as one more of the family and are really nice and open; I feel like I can talk to them if there is something wrong or to ask for help.
I find North Peace Secondary really good and I love my classes (especially foods). I have many friends and the teachers are really good.
What I have done so far in Canada?  I don’t know where to begin. We went to a friend of Jen and Scotts’ and ate marshmallows around a fire, I really liked them! We also went to Grand Prairie to shop for things for winter and visited the Halloween store. It was really amazing since I have never celebrated Halloween!
Thanksgiving was really fun, since we celebrated it twice (one at a friend’s house and the second at our house). Heather, Jacob and I did a cheese cake with the recipe of my grandmother. We also visited a farm and I have started doing Brazilian jiu jitsu.
I really liked was the trip we made with the other international students to Camp Cameron, it was really fun.
I will volunteer at the library starting next week and right now it’s snowing very much, I am looking forward to freezing this winter 🙂 ).

It is already 10 months that I have lived in Fort St John, BC and I attend North Peace Secondary School in Grade 12. Fort St John, is a very active city and I think you can find something to do every night like in different places; even if it is not a big city like Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver there are several events for all ages are organized and all the community participate, it is awesome! The community is what makes Fort St John special. Everyone is always ready to help others, everyone knows each other so organizing events is also easier! In particular, I enjoyed a lot of the “country influence” in town because it is something that I’ve never seen before living in Italy.
Staying at NPSS, I had the opportunity to meet other exchange students who make my days better and I always have someone to talk with and who understood me. There are a lot of opportunities for international students and it is so much fun when we can get together and enjoy Canadian experiences like camping and canoeing.
I will miss all this. Thank you to all my new and international friends and staff.
Michelle – Italy

I met here some very good friends,  from all over the world and Fort St. John.
In winter time, you can try a lot of sports, like skiing, ice skating…
Or you can watch a pretty awesome sport: Hockey ( the Huskies)
The teachers at my school ( NPSS) are really friendly and helpful, if you have questions about anything.
There are some nice sport’s too. I am in Cross country running and I like it (;

My name is Tamilore Adeleke and I am from Nigeria. My stay so far at North peace Secondary School has been lovely and fascinating. I’ve come in contact with so many nice, friendly and wonderful people.

The teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. The students are welcoming and kind. My teachers are very creative and there are hardly any dull moments. The teachers are willing to help any student that is need of assistance. Students are provided with the right materials and environment, to learn and become better at school.

What I like most about the school is, the wide range of subjects and focus areas available for students to follow their dreams. At North Peace, no one is ever left out and we’re constantly involved in one form of activity or the other.

Recently, the international students went skiing; it was very fun and exciting. The school aims at building students who grow to be better and more responsible members of the society, and we are constantly challenged to be the best that we can be. North Peace Secondary School is a place for all and it is definitely a school with a difference.

November 25, I spent my first birthday somewhere else than in Finland. I’m not used to have a real celebration on my birthday, so this year was totally different. The day before we had a family dinner and the whole family was at my house eating cake and having a good time. On my actual birthday morning I had my favorite breakfast; cinnamon buns and fruits. In the evening, I celebrated with my two friends’ at the Girl Guide meeting.
