✈️ Act I – The Leap
Taking your first step into the world
Leaving home to study in another country is a bold move. For many students, it’s their first time on a plane alone, navigating school in a second language, and adjusting to life away from family. At Peace River North, we understand this isn’t just an academic journey — it’s a life journey. We’re here to support every part of it.
❄️ Act II – The Challenge
Adapting, connecting, and growing
At first, things feel different — new routines, new faces, and a new culture. But then something shifts. You bond with your host family over dinner. You build snowmen, go to hockey games, and share inside jokes.
And at school, you’re not on your own. Our staff coordinators are just down the hall, ready to help — whether you’re feeling homesick, need help with class schedules, or just want to talk.
In our tight-knit communities, you’re more than a visitor — you’re part of something real.

🏆 Act III – The Belonging
When Fort St. John starts to feel like home
Over time, your confidence grows. English feels easier. Friendships become deeper. You start to succeed not just academically, but socially and emotionally. Your host family becomes your second family.
When it’s time to go home, you leave with memories, skills, and lifelong connections.
“Thank you for opening your home to me—but more than that, thank you for opening your hearts. You gave me love, care, and security that I’ll never forget. I will be forever grateful.”
— Halyssa, former international student from Brazil
